Card modeling is one of the oldest kinds of miniature creation. And it is also the first branch of model making which went 100% digital. You can't download any other kind of model from the Web - card models are now turned into bits of data, and the whole production process take place at your desktop. Just download the files, print and assemble the model.
So, while you wait for the on-line injection molding machines beaming plastic models via phone line to your benchwork, try card modeling - it is already here.

The tools needed to build card models are simple and easily available - scissors, glue (cyanoacrylate recommended), a sharp knife, straight-edge, tweezers, scrap card board. So, if you don't own a milling machine, vacuforming machine, mold making factory or paint shop, paper modeling is the answer.

What do you gain by printing models on your ink-jet or laser printer? There are three main advantages:
 1. If something goes wrong you can just print another page.
 2. You can use different kinds of paper - thick, thin, matte or glossy - according to your preferences.
 3. Computer printers output images with perfect registration - no mismatched outlines. Double sided  printing is also possible
